1. Terms and Conditions
Thank you for using the official website and services of NMC Press Media Council. It is mandatory to
read and accept the following terms before registering with us and before using our platform:
1. Acceptance of Terms:
By registering on the NMC portal or applying for an ID card/certificate, you fully agree to these
terms and conditions, as well as the guidelines of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB),
IT Rules 2021, PRB Act, and PRGI Act 2024 of the Government of India.
2. Registration & Renewal:
- The digital registration certificate and 'National Press ID Card' issued by the Council will be valid for 12 months (1 year) only.
- The member must complete the renewal process themselves before the term expires. The renewal fee will be Non-refundable.
- If any information provided at the time of registration (Aadhar, PAN card, experience certificates) proves to be false in the future, the membership will be immediately canceled, and the fee will not be refunded.
3. Usage of ID Card & Certificate:
- The objective of this platform is solely to provide legality and security to journalism. The press card cannot be used for any form of blackmailing, extortion, illegal pressure, or spreading 'fake news'.
- Using this card to break traffic rules or save toll tax will be considered illegal.
4. Termination of Membership:
If any member or media organization violates the code of conduct, NMC Press Media Council reserves the absolute right to cancel the member's ID card or the organization's certificate without any prior Notice.
5. Limitation of Liability:
NMC Press Media Council is an autonomous Self-Regulatory Body (SRB). If any registered journalist or media organization commits any crime or illegal activity at their personal level, the complete legal liability will rest solely with that person or organization. The Council will not be responsible for it.
6. Jurisdiction:
Any legal disputes regarding these terms and conditions will be subject strictly to the jurisdiction of the courts of Surat, Gujarat.
